green bean casserole.

hello, internet friends. it's been awhile, but i'm back on this blog-thing. I am currently listening to the soundtrack of my sister's videogames, drinking english breakfast tea with milk, and playing with the cats all under big blue texas sky. my family has gathered here for the food, mostly, and this year I made the green bean casserole. it was pretty awesome. I also have gotten a manicure so that i fit in with the other texas girls and have been looking at a lot of the internet. we've been having big talks about The Future and what will happen when I Graduate, and things like that. I'm pretty sure I'm going to trade my car in for a van, put my all of my stuff in storage, and play a bunch of shows. I'm also going to need to start a band, for which I have many lovely & talented candidates (read: friends).

but enough of that. this year I am thankful for leftover thanksgiving food, quiet mornings, skim milk, classical guitars, the women in my life (and the men in my life), my grandmother's voice and my grandfather's sense of humor, vogue, comfortable jeans, the things that airplanes do, dance dance revolution, red wine, poetry, cats (mostly for cats), pittsburgh, this life, and the music in my family. happy holidays, homies.

lollapalooza.

Monday, August 7th, 2006: how nice was it that all of my internet-myspace-friends came up & said hello to me at lollapalooza? i had a wonderful time & got just a bit sunburned, and just wanted to thank everyone who came & talked to me after the show. it made me & my heart happy and feel less sunburned. there are plenty of photos & mp3s all over the internet, so i'm sure you could find them if that's what you were interested in. the bigger news is that i'm playing at a coffeeshop tonight with jeff brown (myspace/jeffbrownrocks) & some of his friends, and then i leave chicago for boston and then from there i leave for zimbabwe for a few weeks. and then i'll actually be back in pittsburgh. so, until then, i guess, enjoy your sun & your city.
